Campaign and Line Targeting

Targeting can be configured at the Campaign or Line level, depending on the desired strategy.

  • Campaign Targeting: Applies shared targeting requirements across all Lines within a Campaign. Use Campaign level targeting when the selected criteria should apply to every Line.
  • Line Targeting: Applies additional targeting requirements to an individual Line. Use Line level targeting to define a more specific inventory, geographic, device, content, or video strategy.

Important: Campaign and Line targeting are evaluated together. An Impression must satisfy all applicable targeting requirements at both levels to be eligible to serve. Conflicting or overly restrictive targeting can reduce eligible inventory or prevent delivery.

Configuring Targeting

To configure targeting at either level:

  1. Create a new Campaign or Line, or open an existing one in Edit mode.
  2. Navigate to the Targeting section.
  3. Select Edit Targeting.
  4. Configure the applicable targeting options.

Allow Lists, Block Lists, and Require Field

Several targeting methods support Allow Lists, Block Lists, and Require Field options to control which Impressions are eligible to serve.

  • Allow List: Restricts delivery to the selected values.
  • Block List: Excludes the selected values from delivery.
  • Require Field: Requires the corresponding field to be populated in the bid request for the Impression to be eligible. For example, enabling Require Field for Channel, Content ID, Genre, or Site Domain restricts delivery to bid requests that contain a value for that field.

Targeting restrictions are cumulative. When multiple targeting methods are applied, impressions must satisfy all applicable requirements.
